Startup Fund - April 2019

Carmina de Young is a fashion design company based in London, Ontario. Since starting the company in 2015, founder and CEO, Carmina Young has been focused on a mission to design and manufacture garments locally and sustainably. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Carmina de Young started designing disposable and reusable PPE and supplying to the federal government, hospitals and emergency services personnel. Sustainability is at the core of business practice at Carmina de Young.

  • April 2019
    Became a VERGE Startup Fund investee.
  • April 2020
    Began production for sustainable personal protective equipment (PPE) medical gowns.
  • January 2021
    Received $2M in funding for its circular PPE supply chain.
